CHENNAI: Spaniard Rafael Nadal will team up with compatriot Bartolome Salva Vidal in the doubles event of the Chennai Open tennis tournament starting on Monday, the organisers said on Friday.
"Chennai can look forward to an exciting combination of Nadal and Vidal in the days to come. In addition to making a mark in singles, Nadal will be looking forward to repeat his winning doubles performance of 2004," said tournament director Fernando Soler.
In 2004, Nadal won the doubles title here partnering Tommy Robredo - his first Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tour title.
"Vidal will gain an opportunity to showcase his talent to the entire world playing with his hometown hero," said Soler.
